Trip to Indy

So, I am definitely delayed in this post, but am still recovering from the trip to Indianapolis. Overall, it was exhausting. We arrived on Saturday afternoon about 4:00 p.m. James was an absolute dream in the car. We actually only stopped twice on the eight hour drive and Grandma Jo was a big help. We then had dinner with my mom, Alice, Jay, Aunt Jen, and Aunt Anne. After dinner, we headed to Aunt Jen's hotel to swim in the indoor pool. It was James' reward for being so great and mommy's way of getting all that energy out.

Sunday we spent house hunting. We saw some good stuff.

Monday was a grueling day spent apartment hunting. It turns out that most places expect you to sell your soul to terminate a lease. Let me begin with the fact that due to the fact we are moving in June, 3 month leases are almost impossible to come by. So, I decided to look at 6 month leases. However, in order to get out of a six month lease, most properties required 60 days notice PLUS 2 months rent. In case you are counting, if you give notice the day you move in, you are still on the hook for four months rent. Other places tried to be cagey about the fact that there was no way to terminate a 6 month lease. From a legal perspective, this irked me, b/c technically, if they rent your apartment a month after you move out, then you should not be liable for the double rent to the landlord, and I certainly was not going to sign a contract allowing a landlord to do so. Ok, that tirade was over. So, after Monday, I was feeling very discouraged and concerned that Alex, James and I were not going to have a place to live. So, I got a hold of the realtor and decided to look at more homes on Tuesday.

Tuesday, Jo, James, and I went again with the realtor Stephanie to do some more house hunting. I had decided to up the maximum price range we were willing to look at to see what a little more could get us and it turns out a lot. I really liked three different houses in a subdivision called Spring Meadows. It is off Spring Mill in Carmel, in between 131st and 146th. I am not quite sure where exactly, but I was told it was close to O'Malia's, which is nice. So Tuesday morning was fun, Tuesday afternoon was more apartment hunting. Since nothing in Carmel, Castleton, and Fishers was working out, I jaunted up to Noblesville (I was desperate) and actually Noblesville revealed (around 4:00 p.m.) a brand new apartment complex offering 3 month leases. So this was a definite possibility. However, we had one more that we had called in Fishers. So off we went to that one. Trust me, this was as terrible and as boring as you can imagine and as writing is about it. But, at the last complex visited, approximately 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, there was an apartment in Fishers offering 3 month leases! YEAH! The rent is astronomical as far as 2 BR goes, but 3 month lease as kind of the priority. And, this complex is at 96th and Lantern. For those of you familiar with Fishers, if you are heading north on Interstate 69, exit off of 96th Street and turn right, go past Mejier and all of that. The fourth light is Lantern, there is a Marsh grocery store on the corner. The apartment complex is about 1/2 mile up on the right from Lantern. It is called Wellington Place Apartments. The plan is right now to sign the lease if the house has not sold by June 7th. If it has, then we forfeit the deposit, a $150.00 risk we had to take.

Hopefully, our house will sell, because in the end house hunting was much more fun that apartment hunting.

As far as our house selling...we have had a total of 8 showings, 7 of those to prospective buyers (one was a realtor preview). So far no takers. And, after having a showing almost every day since being on the market, we have not had one since Wednesday evening. They are doing the realtor open house on Tuesday and hopefully this will generate some more showings. In the end, it is in God’s hands and I trust that God will decide what is best for my family.
Well this is post really long enough, so I will end it!

Good to read the update... I was really meaning to call you. What days are James in daycare (I figured those would be better days to talk)?

Hi! This is kind of off topic but I need some help from an established blog.

Is it difficult to set up your own blog? I'm not very techincal but I can figure things out pretty fast. I'm thinking
about creating my own but I'm not sure where to begin. Do you have any points or suggestions? Appreciate it

Hey there would you mind stating which blog platform you're using? I'm going to start my
own blog in the near future but I'm having a hard time selecting between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your design seems different then most blogs and I'm
looking for something completely unique.
P.S Sorry for getting off-topic but I had to ask!

I'm new to developing sites and I was wondering if having your blog title related to your articles and other content really that critical? I see your title, "Blogger: Jamie P. " does appear to be spot on with what your blog is about but, I prefer to keep my title less content descriptive and based more around site branding. Would you think this is a good idea or bad idea? Any assistance would be greatly valued.

With havin so much written content do you ever run into any issues of plagorism or copyright infringement?

My website has a lot of exclusive content I've either authored myself or outsourced but it seems a lot of it is popping it up all over the internet without my agreement. Do you know any techniques to help reduce content from being ripped off? I'd definitely
appreciate it.
